Rise and Fall

Everyone knows what is right, sometimes…Now I live in Brandon, MS small town with big feelings. Rankin County has been a dry county for years, until they allowed beer sales. Well you know everyone say no biggie let it come in, it came. They started selling and people got drunk and dui. Ok more money to the city…

Well then you have this other town Flowood, MS small town nothing there for years, then all of a sudden, WAM… buildings going up everywhere. People are excited that they do not have to drive into another county to shop..Good thing you know. The money stays in the county. After awhile the city government starts say hey everyone is going to Jackson to eat at the better restaurants,   cause they can drink liquor. They don’t want beer cause there is not enough revenue in it. Well then you have all the talk and people start talking hey we need to be wet. Then you have ONE subdivision that has a golf course that said hey we can get around the law and serve drinks, and so they did. This stirs up a lot of emotion. The wonderful government says” hey” let see if we can get it on a ballot, they do and did and it passes. People are excited by this wet status now. They can get new restaurants and business will boom. All for a glass of liquor.

What is sad that is how all other cities think, all for one thing “the world”. To make a profit instead of saving lives. Give Flowood 10-15 years, it will a ghost town in places, dried up just like the big city of Jackson. Nothing there….

God teaches us to share our hearts with others to bring them to Jesus Christ. To live with Him forever and ever. Can you imagine or do you image what ever and ever is… eternity. To never die or feel pain again. It will be a glorious thing and I can’t wait. Look deep into your heart and see where you are and where you should be. If you are a Christian then you should feel shame for this kind of approach to satisfaction and if you are non-Christian then you will not know what Christians feel until you ask God into your heart.

Now back to the liquor, I use to smoke and drink. I look back at when I stopped and realize that God had a plan for me. He made certain things happen to me to guide me back on the straight path. It took around 12-13 years but it happen. I stopped smoking after a dui I had, that was a lesson well learned. But wasn’t until about 3 ½ years ago that I quit drinking completely and since then God has blessed me and my family with things better than money. He pulled us thru when we thought there was no way out. The real thing is that God gave me the strength to quit some bad habits to start molding me for His plan. And now I have begun to do His work and have been truly blessed.

For Flowood, you will see a rise and fall of this city and other cities that follow this path, just as others in its pass. God had his hand over the county for years, but now people have turned from Him to do their own thing. For the Christians who fought against this I salute you for the ones who for it, get your life right with God. Apparently the city government , in Flowood, is not Christian otherwise they would of never brought it up or would of argued to vote it down. You will be amazed on how your life will change and the new friends you will meet. Last of all the peace you will have will be nothing you have experience before.
